Kids Bee Happy was created by Alistair and Sandra Patterson, who were first introduced to Magic Sand Painting by their two young daughters, Eleanor and Jessica, whilst on an overseas family holiday.  The girls had such a fantastic time when they first experienced Magic Sand Painting that Alistair was immediately drawn to the opportunities for Magic Sand Painting within the UK.

Territories/Locations

Territories are determined by postcode area.  One area is one complete postcode area, and a postcode area is determined as the first section of a postcode.  eg; NW1.  The standard franchises package includes 3 postcode areas.  However, there are some parts of the UK where populations are a little lower where we offer the franchisee the opportunity to extend their territory to incorporate up to 5 postcode areas if they so wish.  Generally, territories include a minimum of 150,000 people.

Postcode areas must be geographically adjoining, however, they do not necessarily need to be in the same postcode group.  Early adopters will have the choice of which postcode areas are included in their territory.

What is Magic Sand Painting?

Magic Sand Painting is a creative experience where children create pictures on specially prepared laser cut adhesive cards by building layers of brightly coloured sand.  Each section of the picture is peeled off and the children simply spoon and sprinkle the sand over the section.  It’s a flawless process, the sand sticks to the prepared section completely and simply shakes off all other sections, ensuring that it’s impossible to spoil the picture.

What do I need to start Trading?

The Kids Bee Happy franchises at £3,995+VAT will include all the equipment, stock and marketing material that you need to get going.  It will also training and marketing support.

We do assume that you have a car.  But just a standard ordinary car will do.  We have carefully engineered the tables and equipment so that its fully mobile in even a mini, so you don't have to worry about going out any buying a new vehicle, or about hidden costs in the form of contract hires for vans etc.

There are a couple of things that you will need that aren’t  included in the franchises package.  The first of these is a Disclosure requirement.  This is to check that all of our franchisees are suitably qualified to be working around Children.  The cost of this is approx £25-£65 and the disclosure will be required towards the end of the application process.

The other thing that you need to get before you can start trading is insurance.  We have arranged a suitable policy with aprovider and this will be made fully available to you. However you are under no obligation to take out your business insurance with the company we recommend and you are free to buy it from whoever you choose.  Your policy must include public liability insurance for up to £5 million in order to cover the needs of most public sector events.  If you going to have people helping you with your business then you should also include employers liability insurance, this is usually only £15 or so extra.

How many hours do I need to work?

The Kids Bee Happy franchises is one where you can work as many or as few hours as you like.

If you just want to work part time, then you can do a couple of parties a week, maybe 2 on a Saturday.  Each party will take approximately 1.5 hours.  Our projections for a part time franchises are that working 120 events a year, a mixture of community events and parties, that total sales would be approx £19,000 with around £10,000 after expenses and stock for you to put in your pocket. 

The Part Time option is ideal for parents who just want to work a few hours a week to bring an extra income into the house.  A couple of parties at weekends is ideal of people that are parents themselves.  And it allows you to be free to look after the children after school and during school holidays, a perfect solution for many parents juggling work and childcare and family commitments.
